Race 1 Rochester 1 . 30th June 2018 

Wayne Williams & Dave Hunter and Sons

Congratulation to the very strong partnership of Wayne Williams and Dave Hunter. Racing the 1st race of the season from Rochester 145km, this astute team has hit the deck running and will be tough to beat for the rest of the year. The winning pigeon is a young mealy hen bred down from all Wayne’s old Aussie lines with a little new. Her velocity was 1420.06 m/min.

2nd federation was R & M Simmons and Sons velocity 1414.99 m/min with Nakos Family finishing 3rd Fed and a velocity 1401.2 m/min.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Race 2 Rochester 2 . 7th July 2018 

Wayne Williams & Dave Hunter and Sons

Back to back wins to Wayne Williams and Dave Hunter. Another great start for these to mates in the second race from Rochester. Landing 3 pigeons together the winner was bred from Dave’s Houben’s. In what was a slower race with South West winds, the winning hen had a velocity of 1193.91 m/min.

Again placing 2nd federation was R & M Simmons and Sons velocity 1176. m/min with D.J and Sons finishing 3rd Fed and a velocity 1174.49 m/min. This is 2 weeks in a row Dan clock this hen: she placed 6th fed the week before.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Deniliquin 1 – 14th July, 2018

 John Floros

1,745 pigeons competed in the first race from Deniliquin 246km with John Floros the federation winner. The breeding of his Blue Chequer hen is Heremans – Ceusters X Van Loon Janssen. Her velocity was 1420.06 m/min.

2nd was Aussie Lofts (Vince) velocity 1507.91 m/min with Nakos Family (Pip) 3rd Federation velocity 1501.09 m/min. Pip’s hen in the first 3 races has finished 3rd two times and landed with 5th federation.

 

 

 

Deniliquin 2 – 21st July, 2018

With back to back wins John Floros has hit the road (sky) running with his strong racing team. His black chequer pied hens covered the 246km in 2hr 49min 20 sec and a velocity of 1453.88 m/min.  Its breeding is Heremans – Ceusters x Bosua.

2nd federation was J & L Share velocity 1443.21 m/min and 3rd Federation was Wayne Williams and Dave Hunter & Sons velocity 1443.05 m/min 246km

1,543 pigeons competed in the race with good returns reported by all flyers.

 

 

 

 

Griffith 1 – 28th July, 2018

1,399 pigeons competed in the first of four races from Griffith, 380km to the federation winner John Dismore. John was not the happiest of flyers when after the birds were shipped to the race; large scaffold with blue mesh was erected only meters from the race loft. His anxiety was relieved when his Blue Bar hen VPU17-1304 trapped within seconds and a velocity 1667.23 m/min.

A close second was Colin Cox velocity 1662.3 m/min with Y. Snopkowski in 3rd place velocity 1661.11 m/min.

 

Griffith 2 – 4th August, 2018

Share and Murrells

In the second race from Griffith 360km, in what turned out a solid race 1,455 pigeons competed. First federation was the partnership of Leanne Share and Cam Murrells. The winning bird is a 2 year old Blue Bar cock VPU16-12265, velocity 1583.23 m/min; he also got well in the fed’s last year.

Second was Colin Cox velocity 1561.75 m/min and 3rd place with a velocity of 1556.04 m/min was Wayne Williams and Dave Hunter & Sons.

 

 

 

 

Griffith 3 – 12th August, 2018

Racing from Griffith 375km, John Floros won the federation with his Blue Chequer hen VPU17-1560, velocity 1189.94.

Second federation was Jim Davis, velocity 1184.87 with R & M Simmons and Sons third, velocity 1183.80.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Griffith 4 – 12th August, 2018 VRPU DERBY

Charlie Grech is the winner of the VRPU Derby from Griffith 339km with his Blue Chequer cock VPU17-2699, velocity 1183.59.

Second federation was Wayne Williams and D. Hunter & Sons, velocity 1178.56 with Sawyer & Edwards third velocity 1177.03.

Due to inclement weather, his week’s race the K. Price Special was changed to Hillston 472km. The Winner was Colin Cox with his Blue Chequer hen VPU17-6814. Velocity 1334.42.

Rankin’s Springs 2- 25th August, 2018

This week’s race from Rankin’s Springs 412km was won by Charlie Grech. His winning pigeon is a Blue Chequer hen VPU17-2403, velocity of 1446.01.

Second federation is John Floros, velocity 1430.83 with Wayne Williams and D. Hunter & Sons, velocity 1429.85 third.

The first race from Parkes 553km was won by R & M Simmons and Sons with a Blue Bar cock PRV16-2076, velocity of 1231.96 mpm. The breeding is G & S Verkerk x Heremans – Ceusters.

Second were Wayne Williams and D Hunter & Sons with a Blue Bar hen VPU17-6449, velocity 1215.54mpm and John Floros third with a Blue Bar hen VPU17-1597, velocity

 

 

 

 

Parkes 2- 14th September, 2018

Winning his second federation race for the season is Colin Cox. His Blue Bar hen VPU17-6884 was 4 minutes in front with a velocity of 1475.32 mpm.

Second having a strong race season is P & I Mountney, velocity 1458.9 mpm and a Blue Bar hen VPU16-10960; third was Wayne Williams and D Hunter & Sons with a Blue Bar hen VPU17-6374, velocity 1458.08 mpm.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dubbo – G Rayner Memorial29th September 2018

Vince Cannizzo scored a very good win in a tough 400 miler clocking a straight Gabby Vandenabeele early on the second day. This Blue bar hen is from the Jack Vanderlinden line of Gabby’s (Wittenbuick) and now a triple Federation positioned bird having previously scored a 5th Federation and 13th Federation placing her in the running for bird of the year.

Second place went to our President Tony Price some 14 minutes later.

Well done to both in a hard one.
