STAWELL 1 – 27TH JUNE 2015 –  2659 BIRDS  – 69 FLYERS

The first race on the 2015 West track from Stawell saw the welcome return of Steve Cini to racing in partnership with Carl Cutrona (NDIC) as S & C Cini & Cutrona in the Pascoe Vale Club. Steve clocked a yearling blue chequer pied cock  to take first prize.This young cock was a  Heremans Ceusters (Ponderosa) cross Aussie bloodlines pigeon bred by Norm Kerr of the SCF doing 1350.35m/min. 2nd went to fellow Pascoe Vale  Club flyer Eddie Strzlelczyk ,now flying under Black and Blue Lofts, doing 1331.37m/min some 2 minutes behind Steve. Well done boys!!

STAWELL 2 – 4TH JULY 2015 – 2598 BIRDS – 69 FLYERS

The second race on the 2015 West track from Stawell saw Xtreme Lofts from the Broadmeadows Club clock a three year old blue chequer  cock  to take first prize  doing 1491.63.m/min. 2nd went to fellow Broadmeadows  Club flyers Share & Murrells  some  1min and 23 sec minutes behind Frank. Well done boys!!

DIMBOOLA 1 – 11TH JULY 2015 – DID NOT RACE

DIMBOOLA 2 – 18TH JULY 2015 – 2595 BIRDS – 68 FLYERS

The fourth race from the Race schedule from Dimboola saw Brimbank Flyer Simon Grech of C.Grech and Son take first prize with a  Blue Bar yearling hen.The breeding of the hen was a Heremans Ceusters via Michael Portelli and Steve Gazzola and was doing 1103.4m/min just 15 seconds ahead of fellow Brimbank Club flyer Pierre Anastasi. It should be noted that Simon clocked two together.Well done, Charlie is very proud.

WOLSELEY 1 – 25TH JULY 2015 – 2222 BIRDS – 65 FLYERS 

The fifth scheduled race from Wolseley was won by champ flyer John Dismore of the Pascoe Vale Club seen here being congratulated by Thomastown flyer Mehmet Rifat. He clocked a yearling blue bar cock at a velocity of 1792.06m/min. the fastest so far this season. Second place went to Footscray flyer Dennis Brown of D & L Brown clocking 1 minute 19 seconds later. Well done John.

WOLSELEY 2 – 1ST AUGUST 2015 – 2376 BIRDS  – 68 FLYERS 

The sixth scheduled race from Wolseley was won by Coburg flyer Mick Doria. He clocked a 2 year old blue bar hen at a velocity of 1219.oom/min. 2 minutes and 8 sec later was Glenroy flyer Mick Henessy to take second place. Mick Doria’s pigeon looks like a special one as this was the second time he had clocked her having already achieved 3rd Federation in the first race from Stawell. On the way to bird of the year?? Well done the two Mick’s.

TINTINARA 1 – 8TH AUGUST 2015 – 1601 BIRDS – 65 FLYERS

The first of the distance series was from Tintinara and was won by Regent flyer Cheny Chen seen here (left) with his associate VHA breeder we believe. Cheny clocked a blue bar hen with a winning velocity of 1396.28m/min just 3 seconds ahead of fellow Regent flyer Colin Cox who was wrapt to see a new flyer win. It was a  great achievement by Cheny to win his first Federation given he only just started flying with the VPU in the last couple of years. Well done Cheny!!

TINTINARA 2 – 15TH AUGUST 2015 – BIRDS 1598 – FLYERS 63

Tintinara 2 was won by Brimbank Club flyer Rennie Vella seen here with his advisors. Rennie clocked a Blue Bar hen with a winning velocity of 1324.30m/min winning by 2minutes and 46 sec ahead of Fawkner flyers Pat & Pauline Pace. This hen was bred from a Steve Cini cross K.Saggers line and it is interesting to note that with the mass liberation of some 5000 pigeons (VPU,WPF,GMPF and GEELONG) Rennie would have finished 5th overall. Great effort!!

TINTINARA 3 – 22ND AUGUST 2015 – BIRDS – 1214 – FLYERS 66

Tintinara 3 was won by Brimbank Club Flyer  Majorca Lofts headed by John Cassar winning with a velocity of 1535.15m/min some 2 minutes and 29 seconds ahead of Footscray flyer Benny Borg. The blue bar pied yearling cock was Jurion cross Wickham (from the Mottle Cock line) showing the old blood is still successful.Well done John.

MURRAY BRIDGE 1 – 29TH AUGUST 2015 – BIRDS – 1255 – FLYERS 59

A tough one from Murray Bridge was won by Pascoe Vale club flyers Denaro & McDonald with a velocity of 1097.92m/min some 1 minute and 45 seconds ahead of  2nd placed Thomastown flyer R.Simmons and Son.  The boys clocked a Blue Bar hen bred from the old Aussie lines cross Imports. Well done boys.

MURRAY BRIDGE 2 – 5TH SEPTEMBER 2015 – BIRDS – 981 – FLYERS 66

This weeks Federation winner was Vic Borg of the Brimbank Club with a velocity of 1239.99 m/min just 39 seconds ahead of Fawkner Club flyers P & P Pace. Vic clocked a blue chequer hen in winning the prest Geo Whaley Memorial. Well done Vic.

YOLLA – 5TH SEPTEMBER 2015 – BIRDS – 701 – FLYERS 61

The second race of the day was the Betty Clarke Memorial from Tassie which was won by Fawkner Club team K & K Lofts with a winning velocity of 1445.92m/min only 6 seconds ahead of NSHC Club flyer J & L Share. Kevin & Kay clocked a Blue Chequer hen just in time .Well done team!!

MURRAY BRIDGE 3 – 12TH SEPTEMBER 2015 – BIRDS -1056 – FLYERS 48

This weeks Federation winner was Pascoe Vale Club flyer Manny Pereira clocking a blue bar pied hen with a velocity of 1517.99m/min, a good gap to second placed Brimbank flyer Pierre Anastasi of 3 minutes and 54 seconds. Manny’s hen was bred form the old Aussie lines. Well done.

MORGAN 1 – 19TH SEPTEMBER 2015 – BIRDS – 987 – FLYERS 57

This week’s Federation winner was another Pascoe Club Vale flyer  John Forti clocking a Blue Chequer cock with a velocity of 1334.34m/min with a 2 and a half minute gap on second placed Brimbank flyer C.Grech & Son.John doubled this cock back from the week before having earned 4th Federation in that race.Looks like a good one John.Well done.

MORGAN 2 -26TH September 2015 – BIRDS – 861 – FLYERS 52

This week’s Federation winner was the Pascoe Vale Club partnership of Denaro & McDonald clocking a Blue Bar hen with a velocity of 1303.59m/sec just 56 min ahead of fellow club flyer John Dismore. This their second first Federation for the season. Well done boys.

CARRIETON 500 MLS – 3RD OCTOBER 2015 – BIRDS  856 – FLYERS 50

This week’s Federation winner was Benny Borg of the Footscray Club clocking a blue bar hen in one of the fastest 500mls for many years with a velocity of 1751.05m/min – under 8 hours for 500mls – and almost just as good and only 36 secs behind was Pascoe Vale flyer Len La Sala. Incredible times well done to both flyers.

MORGAN NATIONAL –  10TH OCTOBER 2015 – BIRDS 406 – FLYERS 48

This week’s clear winner was 2nd time first Federation winner John Forti of the Pascoe Vale Club clocking a blue bar hen with a velocity of 1266.28m/min well ahead by 17min and 50 sec of second place Amear & Fady of the Fawkner Club. John’s bird attained 5th National. Well done John.

BOOKALOO – 17TH OCTOBER 2015 – 710 BIRDS – FLYERS 52

This week’s winner of the final race for the season was Yurek Snopkowski of the Fawkner Club. In a very hard race, Yurek clocked a blue bar hen on the second day with a velocity of 826.34m/min and despite the distance and conditions, only 1min 15secs ahead of second placed J & L Share of the NHC .Well done boys in a tough one.
